Disclaimer: I edited this book but my thoughts are all my own.This is book one in the series and it packs quite the emotional wallop. From the first page, I connected with Sophia Hart. She's been through the wars, as my father would say, and she's struggling to just make it day by day. It isn't until Taye sits down at her table and asks her out on a date that hope blooms in her chest. Maybe there's one person who won't vilify her for discovering her high school sweetheart murdered and abused by the justice system.While the murder mystery continues throughout the whole series, this book is about Taye and Sophia. The romance between them is slow-burning but like Taye, I'm a patient person. The ups and downs of their relationship is mostly on Sophia's side as she learns to trust him. Such a great book and one I highly recommend!My Rating: 5 stars
This is the story of Sophia and Taye. Kay Harris is one of my favorite authors and an automatic buy for me. I adored her books and this one was no different. It is the first in a series of four and each book has a HEA but the story continues through the series. The characters are wonderfully written and you can absolutely identify with them. I'm a big Kay Harris fan. I always fall in love with her characters and want to be a part of their worlds. This book is no exception. Sophia and Taye are wonderful watching the story develop mad it hard to put the book down. (Plus I can't wait for the next one!) I also enjoyed all of Sophia's friends a more supportive group you couldn't find. They are all such fun! This book is definitely worth your time and money!!!!!!!! I really enjoyed this story, I went in blind and loved it! It got me out of my book slump, kept me interested and I read it in one sitting.
